What is Manchester today?

Village on the shores of a lagoon, accessed by a narrow channel off the Rio Manuripi.

Origins

Established by the Mancunian metallurgical engineer Anthony Webster James circa 1885. Village was first established as a trading post around a rubber smelting plant which soon became a settlement.
